I'm feeling a bit yucky this morning because of a cold so here is something that didn't require much thought on my part. Here are the first lines of the first 15 songs to come up on the giant iTunes playlist we have called "Julia's Favorite Songs". Your job is to guess the song title and/or artist without consulting Google.
- Skip the cloak and dagger bit
Don't you know we're sick of it?
As much as I would like to stay
The message light just blinks away What's with these homies dissing my girl?
Why do they gotta front?Sometimes I feel like I don't know
Sometimes I feel like checkin' out
I want to get it wrong
Can't always be strongHe was tied to the bed with a [song title] in one hand,
In the other, a great lost novel that,
I understand, was returned with a stamp
That said, "Thank you for your interest, young man."Now the rain comes down the windows and it
Drops onto the forehead of the waiting boy
He surveys his rental kingdom and he
Wonders if he's really lost his one joy- When I'm stable long enough
I start to look around for love
See a sweet in floral prints
My mind begins the arrangements Nothing but a chemical in my head
It's nothing but laziness
Cause I don't wanna read the book
I'll watch the movieOne two three uh!
My baby don't mess around
Because she loves me soThirteen grand
A year in the meadowlands
Bored and rural-poor, lord, at 35, right?
I'm the best 17-year-old everWay down yonder on the bayou
There lives a little girl
Skin so pale, six feet high
Skinny as a rail, just one eyeI once met a man with a sense of adventure
He was dressed to thrill wherever he wentShe was old enough
To know better
And she was strong enough
To be trueI am thinking it's a sign that the freckles
In our eyes are mirror images and when
We kiss they're perfectly alignedLights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against
Brought me down upon my knees
Oh I beg, I beg and plead- Sometimes they rock and roll
Sometimes they stay at home and it's just fine
[song title]
So go ahead and leave your guesses in the comments; I'll strike-through anything that people identify correctly. Maybe our joint ponderings of music we like will help me feel better despite the sore throat and weird-feeling ears.

This is a lot harder than it seems! Sadly the first one that jumped out at me was Hey Ya by Outkast (#8). #14 is by Coldplay but I can't remember the title (resisting the urge to google).
Hope you feel better!
Yep, that's right! I think that either title or artist is fine, but it's "Clocks".
I just suck. I know none of these. But I do realize that song lyrics don't stick in my head. Points to me for even thinking I could try it.
#10 is "One-Eyed Fiona," yes?
And I think #12 is Lyle Lovett as well, although I wouldn't swear to it.
I lurve me some Lyle.
Is it cheating for your husband to play this game? I figure not, since I bet if I made you guess the lyrics of the NEXT 15 songs you wouldn't have a clue, as we all know who in this family actually cares about the words of songs.

Did it make it any easier to leave me where I stand?
I guess there might not be too many who would stand beside you now
